All-around purveyor of the bizarre.
Charlie is the lead natural resource science and technology expert on Lost Monster Files, currently airing on Discovery. He is also the co-creator of the award-winning podcast, Arcane Carolinas and its spin-off Arcane Destinations. He has made numerous appearances at regional fandom conventions as a speaker and guest. He has also appeared as a host and guest on public television under the Arcane Carolinas banner for specials on folklore and legends.
Charlie has spent years researching the history, anthropology, and natural resource sciences behind folklore and legends of North America. In his book Arcane Carolinas Vol. 1 and the forthcoming Arcane Carolinas Vol. 3 he explores the feasibility, cultural significance, and social implications of folklore, legends, and modern tales of the strange with origins specifically in the Carolinas. From cryptids, to ghosts, to UFOs, if it's weird, he's written about it.
From pop-culture inspired designer toys and t-shirts, to comics, books, and video games, Charlie has always prioritized an accessible pop-art sensibility. His art has been licensed to toy production companies, DIY self-published, and occasionally found in unexpected locations as street art.
Charlie is a cybersecurity professional serving in an executive role within the higher education space. He also supports the mission of the university by teaching courses in information technology, mentoring students, and serving on curriculum action committees. He has also been invited as a guest speaker at technology conferences to present results from sponsored research projects he has led.
